Our little players!

I love the spring time! For our family, its the perfect weather for sitting at baseball/softball games. Little League is wonderful and I'm glad to be a part of it.

Who couldn't love this?!?!?!
I feel so proud of my little players, it's a bit ridiculous actually. Who knew one could feel this feel way and they are only in LITTLE LEAGUE!!

However, along with the good comes the not so good. Like dinner at 4:30 with games at 5:30 then 7:30 and sometimes 1 in between. The key is preparation to lessen the anxiety. Making sure Danny doesn't put left over cigarette buds is another fun one. One the plus side, they do have a sandpit where the boys play and Annie stays in there the whole time. The down side to that and to having actual players is this:
and feeling it under my feet until I sweep it all up in a little pile. (This is only half of it, some is in my car and the other on the carpet.)

No wonder I wear flip flops ALL the time!

2 weeks down, 3 to go!

Shooting with Uncle Dan- LOVE IT!!

It has been a long time since I have been shooting. We would occasionally shoot pistols with my dad. Tegan's husband Nathan, is obsessed with sport so before I was married I think was the last time I was shooting. I can't remember the two different guns, one was 20 Gage and the other one was... well some other kind of gun. We got a little bruised, but that comes with the territory as it were.

Uncle Dan, who our little Danny is named after, took Eddie and I and Eddie's fun cousins Danielle and Brodie. We had a really fun time, and I wasn't too bad if I say so myself. Danielle and I agree I think that if you shoot quickly and with your eyes closed, your chances of shooting the clay pigeon went up drastically as opposed to waiting and aiming.

old precious friends

Sometimes they way you feel about people is hard to articulate. That's how I feel about the Cluff's. We lived next to them for 2-3years in the apartments. We babysat Colten, the handsome groom, and Lexie, whom I will have a funny story about. We were together ALL the time. They were all of our best friends. They have moved to Queen Creek, but I have thoroughly enjoyed every chance encounter and the planned ones, which have been few and far between these past zillion years. When I try to express how I feel about them, words just don't cut it. They were the ones to come to the temple to tell us to get home cause Dad had died during my sister in laws endowment session. To say I love them is an understatement.

So I saw another old friend at the reception and I was telling her how I knew Colten and Lexie and babysat them and that Jenn and Dave were good friends. So when Lexie walked by, I said, "Hi Lexie." (blank look) "I'm Tecia Freestone", (it was starting to come) "I babysat you like non stop as a child". "Oh ya, I remember you." I felt so stupid in front of my friends. I guess she was 2 when she moved away, but those 2 years should have made some kind of lasting impression, right? Anyway, Colten totally remembered me and said he even had fond memories of our family, he was probably 5 when they moved. So that's something.

Daddy & Daniel

I know, Eddie NEVER looks this happy in pictures. I love this one and both people in it! He's the best Dad in the world. He says Danny is our cutest kid... I tell him he forgets how cute our others were. He said it's cause he's so smiley, which is true. But I think that's just an excuse and he really thinks he's the cutest because Danny is the only kid that turned out how he envisioned his kids to look like!!! Either way, having cute kids is such a burden.

pictures with Grandpa

Eddies Dad doesn't feel very good most the time. Occasionally, a little more lately, he feels good enough to come and mingle with the family. Usu, he enjoys teasing the little ones. As they get older they think it's fun to play with Grandpa. But there's a rough patch there for a couple years, at least with my kids, which involves hiding, being amazingly quite trying to go unnoticed, screaming, crying when he comes around the corner unexpectedly. It's kinda funny. But when they are this small like Daniel, well...

I think the pictures speak for themselves.

A new look for Joseph

So early on in the year Joey failed his vision test. I just took him in and it turns out he has astigmatism in both eyes and one eye is slightly lazy. I still can't notice the lazy eye except for the one test he did. I know glasses are no big deal having them myself, but something inside still feels bad that I passed on damaged goods to my kid. So naturally, I switched the blame to Eddie's side of the family (sorry family) even though Eddie's eyes are flawless. Half of them, I would say, have astigmatisms. Then I found out that my Dad had astigmatism and so does one or two of my sisters. (How could I not know this?) So, in the end, the fault must be mine and mine alone. Sorry little Joe Joe. Although I must say...
You pull the look off amazingly well!! You handsome devil~!

Ridiculosnesses of life

Don't worry all, I'm pretty sure 'ridiculosnesses' of life is a real word.

So the other day after a long day, I was rubbing my neck and felt something stuck to my neck. So I went to take it off, which hurt a little because it was stuck to the tender parts of my hair. I couldnt' tell what is was, so upon taking a closer look, it turned out to be a BOOGER! And not mine either. Ah, to have kids with a runny nose. Shyla said this was nothing to whine about. I think it's disgusting. She said, I could easily flick it off and get on with life. hmm

This morning I had to laugh at my life. Danny and Annie both sick and in bed with, not that that matters for Danny, he's always in bed with us, Eddie and I are always trying to get as much sleep as we can. So as not to disturb the children and make sure they are comfortable we have gained some ridiculous habits. Like this morning, Eddie and I were both at the FOOT of our bed, huddled together practically in a fetal position whilst Annie and Daniel were laying on our comfortable pillows, taking as much room as they want.

Our little Annie has not been feeling well. It's kinda a joke that she is spoiled and gets whatever she wants. She is kinda prissy. So this morning, I was sleeping in because Danny was up every 40 min. or something last night, and Annie came into my room 2X. So being the great mother that I am, I got up to see what she needed. I followed her to the couch where she said "I need a pillow." I said, "Annie why didn't you just get your own pillow?" So I got her pillow, then she said, "I'm cold, I need a blanket." I should have anticipated this, but still. It actually leaves me speechless.

snow, Snow, SNOW!!!

I k

I know we are not the only ones who enjoyed the snow in Mesa!! Ok, well you did have to travel a bit to get to real snow, but still. It was awesome. Over the break we went to Mount Ord. There was a small hill that we played on for a bit. Are you wondering why there are only pictures of Annie? Everyone else only lasted 10 min. and they were huddled in the car. Ridiculous I know! Annie however, we had to pull her away. She had so much fun sliding down that little hill and I admit I had a good time as well. Esp. with Robert pushing us down the whole way (crazy Robert). And we got pushed on a real sled, not the lid, if you were wondering.

Swinging from the tree

We have this awesome tree with a rope in the front. The kids have never played much with the rope much because it was too high for them. Recently, they have been creative and this is what they have come up with. (I'm so proud!)

First you have to roll the garbage can over, then climb up anyway you can, because I'm not going to help do such a crazy thing.

Then you wait patiently for someone to toss you the rope, sometimes this takes a long time. Don't be fooled by the pictures, it's a bit higher than you think.

Then off you go.

McCormick Park with Aunt Shyla

My sister Shyla likes to do fun things with the kids. She heard about McCormick Park in Scottsdale by where she lives does this cool train ride in Dec. and wanted to buy tickets for the kids to go. So we went. It was really fun. While Shyla and I were waiting in line, Shyla got htem tickets to ride the carousel too. When Eddie told me some of the kids were all scared, it made me glad my kids weren't wimps (btw, if you are reading this and your kid cries on the carousel, I dont' think he's a wimp) Where is Johnny you might be asking, he got an offer to spend the weekend with Jackson, Rusty's son, and just couldn't refuse. But he missed out!! The kids had a great time! Whoo hoo!
